In recent years, I studied and worked in Beijing and The Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area (Yeah, two capitals of two great countries)
After my graduation, I joined Amazon as a full-time engineer.
I like taking a road trip, working out && boxing (Muay Thai), and playing fingerstyle guitar 🎧.
My area of interest is the intersection of Distributed Systems and Automobiles, which is applying computer science technology into auto, making auto smart, and making people’s life convenient and comfortable when they are driving on the road.

Q: What’s your occupation?
A: I am an engineer @ Amazon, I have worked under AWS (IAM) and currently working under Alexa (Video). However, in this modern life, people might have multiple roles. I define myself as an engineer, writer, elementary-level investor, and fingerstyle guitar player.
Q: What do you usually do on weekends?
A: I will explore the good restaurants with my friends in the DC area, sometimes I will take a short road trip. The most important thing I will do is I will turn on the creator mode, write some articles ✍️., or record my guitar cover of some beautiful songs. However, recently I am more enjoying and focusing on becoming the creator, so I have less time to hang out with friends.
Q: What are your stories about guitar?
A: I have 3 stories about guitar, the first time is I learned guitar in high school, but at that time, we were exposed to a lot of schoolwork, so I didn’t have enough time to learn it, and I dropped. The second time I learned guitar is when I was in college, at that time I felt a lot of pain of my fingers, and I was not that focusing on guitar learning so much, so I quit for the second time.
The third time was in 2020, this was a COVID year, everything got shut down. I had to learn to stay alone and work from home alone. Playing the instrument is a good thing I can stay with myself, and when I played the guitar, I felt the inner peace in my heart. Guitar is a good thing to accompany me when I was down.
After making the deliberate decision, I picked up the guitar the third time, but this time, I am playing the guitar with more passion, guitar has more meaning to me, I practiced a lot with more effort no matter how hard the song / the technique would be. I think guitar will be a part of my life just like sports and this time it will stay with me for a long time.
Q: What triggered you to learn fingerstyle guitar?
There is a song that triggered me to learn fingerstyle guitar, which is Merry Christmas，Mr. Lawrence, I heard that song during the Christmas holidays in 2020, it was the first time I thought the fingerstyle guitar is beautiful. Another reason is some Youtubers are the inspiration for me to learn fingerstyle guitar, I started following some guitarist/guitar players on Youtube, their nice music videos impressed me and I wish I can play that well just like them. Youtube is my second teacher other than my previous guitar enlightenment teacher.
After I practiced guitar for a couple of months, I started practicing or playing the guitar outside for fun. I found when I was playing the guitar, I started to have a live audience. They could be some little kids sitting around me or some passersby just stopped and listened to me. I super liked that feeling, it was the first time that I realized music performance is so beautiful.
Q: Which composer do you like most?
I pretty like an Italian composer, Ludovico Einaudi, he had a couple of beautiful songs, like I Giorni, Experience, Una Mattina. Although he is a pianist, his songs covered in string instruments like Guitar and Violin are so beautiful. I knew him since I practiced his songs with Guitar arrangements.
